The Queen’s Health Systems' Response to Influenza and Novel Coronavirus
There are currently no cases of COVID-19 at The Queen's Health Systems.
We have implemented the following measures to address influenza and COVID-19. As always, our goal is to keep our patients, visitors, staff and providers healthy and safe.
For patients: Hospitals and clinics are conducting routine travel screening of patients at points of entry for possible Coronavirus infection. If a patient screens positive (symptoms + travel from locations of concern as identified by the CDC, or exposure to a known case), rapid masking and isolation will be implemented until further evaluation with Hawaii Department of Health is completed.
For visitors: Temperature screening at points of entry to our patient care areas has been implemented in some of our hospitals in response to increased influenza cases. People with a high temperature or flu symptoms will be asked not to visit patient units. The enhanced precautions for influenza include restricting visitors under the age of 12 in whom cough etiquette is difficult to control. We continue to recommend flu vaccination for the unvaccinated. We ask all who enter our hospital to cooperate with our screening for respiratory virus illnesses during this period of active flu in the community and while COVID-19 cases are being identified on the U.S. Mainland and in other countries.
